7 Billion in 2011

It's crazy to think that we have recently contributed to the ever increasing global population, which this year is expected to break the 7 billion mark. This excellent video from National Geographic really helps to put that figure into perspective, not only in terms of how vast a number that is, but also what an enormous strain we are putting on the very finite resources available to us on our planet.
